Our variety trials site at Wisbey Farm in Chilliwack is being managed by Renee Prasad from University of the Fraser Valley. This is one of our conventional sites and is also acting as the Mother site for our Beet trials meaning there will be three replicates of each variety. Renee will be working with UFV students to help manage this space – making this a great work-learn experience!

They got their beets sown on April 26.

This is one of the sites we will visit often as it is relatively close to Vancouver and to other sites, including Local Harvest Farm and Pitchfork Farm.

The soil here in the Fraser Valley is a great growing medium – higher in clay and silt than many soils on the Island and at UBC Farm.
